Hakim Ziyech
Former Chelsea attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech has been released by Al-Duhail after spending four months in Qatar at the end of last season. The Morocco international might choose to stay in the Middle East and find a new club, but if Ziyech could rekindle the form he was in at Ajax, he could be a transfer coup for many clubs.
Christian Eriksen
After he left Manchester United, Christian Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots said that the Danish legend would have his future sorted out before Denmark's upcoming World Cup qualifiers. But still, there is no resolution, and there is now speculation that the Danish international playmaker is considering ending his career.

Takehiro Tomiyasu
Takehiro Tomiyasu's contract at London club Arsenal was terminated a year ahead of schedule because of the long-term injury issues which have haunted his progress throughout his career. The versatile defender is expected to return to fitness towards the end of the calendar year, and at full tilt, the 26-year-old Japanese international could still be a rock in central defence.
Rui Patricio
After being released by AS Roma, Rui Patricio guarded the posts for Atalanta last season, but only made three appearances in Serie A. The former Wolves keeper then signed a short-term deal to represent Al Ain at the Club World Cup, but is currently out of contract.
Samuel Umtiti
How different things might have looked for former Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti if it hadn't been for injuries, which have continued to derail his career. Most recently, he completed two seasons in Ligue 1 with Lille, but the former World Cup winner only managed to make 13 appearances for them in all competitions.

Fraser Forster
At the age of 37, Fraser Forster is no doubt approaching the end of his career, but could potentially still pose a back-up solution like the one he occupied at Tottenham. Forster made 13 appearances for Spurs last season, but as he fell to third in their hierarchy by the end of the season, he was let go.
Sergio Reguilon
Another player who fell through the ranks at the North London club was former Spanish international Sergio Reguilon, who had loan spells with Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, and Brentford. Fabrizio Romano reported at the end of May that Reguilon had negotiated with several clubs, but his immediate future is not yet resolved.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Besiktas released the former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in August after 50 appearances across two seasons. The former England international is rumoured to be on Birmingham City's radar, with the Championship club chasing promotion to the Premier League, but his future is still uncertain.

Lorenzo Insigne
From July 2022, the former Napoli ace Lorenzo Insigne had been playing in MLS for Toronto FC, but the Canadians recently terminated his contract after 19 goals in 76 appearances for them. With the right club in Italy, the 34-year-old Insigne could potentially rekindle his career and perhaps even be an option for the World Cup, if the Italians make it.
Miralem Pjanic
A bright future seemed to be ahead of Bosnian international player Miralem Pjanic when he earned a contract with Barcelona in 2020, but since then, his career has taken an unusual path with contracts in Turkey, the UAE, and Russia. On his best days, Panic is, however, still a superb addition to any squad.
