Aaron Donald returns to NFL on a one-year, $20 million deal with the Rams

Donald, 35, originally retired in 2024 after spending all 10 years of his NFL career with the Rams. Now, he'll join reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett on what is now looking like the most feared defensive line in the NFL. 

Garrett, 30, was traded to the Rams in a blockbuster deal with the Cleveland Browns after a season in which he set the NFL single-season record with 23 sacks.

Donald earned eight First-Team All-Pro honours in his 10 years, the other two being his rookie season, in which he won Defensive Rookie of the Year, and in 2022, when he only played in 11 games after dealing with a high ankle sprain. 

He's a three-time Defensive Player of the Year who has been nominated in the top five for the award in seven total seasons. Donald put up double-digit sacks in six seasons, including five straight between 2017 and 2021. 

In 2018, he set the NFL record for most sacks by an interior defensive lineman with 20.5, the same year he also led the NFL with 25 tackles for loss. Donald would go on to help the Rams win the Super Bowl in 2022 before retiring a couple of years later.

The 10x Pro Bowler has 543 career tackles, 260 quarterback hits, 176 tackles for loss, 111.0 career sacks, 24 forced fumbles, 21 pass deflections, and one safety in 154 games (150 starts).
