In a statement, the FISI said that giant slalom world champion Brignone would participate in the training runs for Tuesday's race in the Dolomites before deciding whether to compete for the first time this season.
Brignone, 35, has not raced since suffering a double leg break in April, just after the end of her triumphant last campaign.
And although she should compete in the Winter Olympics, which start in less than three weeks, she could yet arrive at the Milan-Cortina Games without a single race.
Brignone will be one of Italy's four flag bearers during the Olympics' opening ceremony, which will be held at the San Siro stadium in Milan on February 6th.
