Clements was with the Packers from 2006 to 2016, mentoring Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre and soon-to-be Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers as a quarterback coach, offensive coordinator, associate head coach, and offensive assistant.
"Man, it's been a cool ride with (Clements) for the last three years," said head coach Matt LaFleur.
"Talk about Favre, Rodgers and then the development of Jordan Love. I mean, that's pretty cool. I know he's meant a lot to this organization - his contributions - and he will definitely be missed. I can't say enough great things about him. I really appreciate him."
Clements left the Packers after the 2016 season to take some time off before returning to the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. From 2022 to 2024, he was back in Green Bay working as the quarterbacks coach, mentoring the franchise's new, young quarterback Jordan Love.
The veteran coach has been teaching quarterbacks in the NFL since he started with the New Orleans Saints in 1997. Other teams he fulfilled the same role with are the Kansas City Chiefs (2000), Pittsburgh Steelers (2001-2003), and Buffalo Bills (2004-2005).
Before entering the NFL workforce, Clements won the 1973 National Championship as a quarterback for Notre Dame then spent most of his professional playing career in the Canadian Football League. He eventually made his way back to Notre Dame in 1992 to work as the program's quarterback coach.
Clements is a national champion at both the collegiate and professional level (2010 - Packers) and goes down as arguably the most successful quarterback coach in NFL history.
