The Washington Commanders re-signed star linebacker Bobby Wagner (34) to a one-year deal worth $9.5 million on Thursday.

Wagner was previously on a one-year deal worth $6.5 million and was set to become a free agent this offseason starting on March 12th.

The 10x Pro Bowl linebacker and future Hall of Famer was a stud for the Commanders last season after putting up 132 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, eight quarterback hits, four pass deflections, and two sacks.

Wagner started all 17 games for the Commanders last season, playing in 99 percent of the snaps, and was eventually elected as an AP Second-Team All-Pro at the end of the season.

The now six-time All-Pro and former Super Bowl Champion will be heading into his 14th season as the Commanders look to contend for the Super Bowl yet again after losing in the NFC Championship to the eventual Super Bowl victors - the Philadelphia Eagles
