The Minnesota Timberwolves and forward Naz Reid agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $125 million on Friday.

Reid, who was expected to hit the free agent market this offseason, is now staying in Minnesota until 2029.

The former 2023-2024 Sixth Man of the Year is coming off of his best season yet, setting a career-high average in points (14.2), rebounds (6.0), and assists (2.3).

Reid originally went undrafted in 2019 out of LSU before signing a two-way contract with the Timberwolves

He made his debut the same year, playing 30 games (starting 11) at the age of 20, and has established himself as a fan favourite among the Minnesota faithful years later.

Now, Reid will have dedicated all 11 years of his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves by the time his new extension ends - barring any possible trades.
