Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George (34) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

George will receive injections in both his left adductor muscle (inner thigh) and left knee that will sideline him for six weeks (the remainder of the regular season).

Also according to Shams, George took painkiller injections for five straight games ahead of NBA All-Star Weekend.

"I haven't been the healthiest, so it's just been putting a ton of work towards getting my body as healthy as possible, and to keep focus of obviously being here and trying to turn things around here and the full focus is trying to get this team together," said George in a statement earlier this season declaring a pause on his podcast.

His 16.2 points per game this season is the lowest since his second year in the league in 2011 when he averaged 12.1.

The nine-time All-NBA veteran is currently sitting on a pretty four-year max deal with the 76ers making $212 million.

Philly is sitting at 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 23-44 record.
