Seattle Mariners catcher and MLB home run leader Cal Raleigh (28) won the 2025 Home Run Derby on Monday night against Tampa Bay Rays' Junior Caminero in the final round.

Raleigh and Brent Rooker tied in the first round with 16 home runs. But the home run king's biggest bomb was registered at 470.6 feet to Rooker's 470.5 feet, leaving Raleigh to advance.

Raleigh then took down Pittsburgh Pirates star Oneil Cruz in the semi-finals 19-13 before defeating Caminero in the final round 18-15.

This is the first time a catcher has ever won the Home Run Derby and is also the final position in the field to be crowned champion.

The moment creates a perfect story for the Raleigh family. Cal's father was his pitcher during the Derby, while his brother and his mother, who repped a signed jersey from Cal saying, "Mom, I love you so much! Thank you for all of the sacrifice!", we're also in attendance.

When Raleigh was a kid, he mentioned how he was going to hit in the Derby and now the dream has officially come full circle with an unforgettable night.

Raleigh currently leads all of baseball with 38 home runs and is on pace to hit more in a single season than any catcher in baseball history - Kansas Royals' Salvador Perez holds the record with 48.

He already broke the record for most home runs by a catcher before the All-Star break this season, beating out the legend Johnny Bench, while surpassing the great Ken Griffey Jr. for most in Mariners history before the break.

Cruz had the furthest hit ball of the night at 513 feet, which tied Shohei Ohtani (2021) for the fourth-longest home run hit in the Derby since 2016.
