Flensburg-Handewitt's Danish international Lukas Jorgensen has sustained a thigh injury which will keep him out for an indefinite period of time.

In a training match on Friday evening, Flensburg-Handewitt's Lukas Jorgensen was injured when he made a jump during a counter-attack.

The linebacker felt something was wrong with his thigh and had to be substituted.

Since then, the Danish national team player has been uncertain about the extent of the injury.

Lukas Jorgensen has now received the news that he is out with a thigh injury for an indefinite period. Therefore, he does not yet know whether he will be out for two, three or four weeks.

"I am of course disappointed. I had hoped that I would already be ready within a couple of weeks", he says.

"I had a better feeling in my leg and an impression that I was further along in the healing process than I perhaps was. I was a little worried when it happened in the training match, but I thought that I got more movement in my leg fairly quickly."

Jorgensen emphasizes that he expects to be back again soon, so that he can be part of the preparations towards the start of the season at the end of August.

"I hope and believe that I can be ready before the start of the season." Flensburg-Handewitt has high ambitions for the season. "The ambition is definitely that we will fight for the championship", emphasizes Lukas Jorgensen.

The German club won 35-24 against Danish outfit HOJ Elite on Friday evening.
