German outfit Flensburg-Handewitt will be handicapped by the absence of Simon Pytlick in the near future after the Danish international has broken his arm.

Simon Pytlick will be out of action for an extended period of time.

On Tuesday evening, he was injured in Flensburg-Handewitt's match against Toulouse in the European League, and tests have now revealed that it's a serious injury.

Pytlick's German club writes on its website on Wednesday that the Danish handball star has broken his right forearm. The club does not dare to guess how long he will be out for.

Flensburg-Handewitt, who are currently in fifth position in the German Bundesliga, says that Pytlick will undergo an operation in the next days.

"It is of course a big blow that in our current situation we have to manage without Simon", says director Holger Glandorf.

Simon Pytlick left the court in pain after attempting a shot on goal in the end of the game and quickly reached for his arm.

The Danish profile now misses Flensburg-Handewitt's upcoming matches - including this weekend's clash against the Bundesliga league leaders, MT Melsungen
