Handball star Henny Reistad is set to join Brest Bretagne next season, but the Norwegian showed no mercy against her future employer on Saturday afternoon. She scored ten times for Team Esbjerg, who won their home Champions League match 35–26.

There was a clear difference between the two teams, especially in the second half, and with ten minutes left, any suspense had effectively evaporated at Blue Water Dokken Arena.

The Danish side has collected ten points from their first six matches and currently sit in second place in the group—a position from which the top two teams advance directly to the quarter-finals.

Team Esbjerg opened the match with a 4–0 lead, forcing the French team’s coach to call their first timeout after just five minutes.

However, Brest is not a team to be easily brushed aside; the French side participated in last season’s Final 4, finishing among the Champions League’s final four teams.

The visitors’ attack eventually found a better rhythm against an otherwise solid Esbjerg defense, beginning to exploit openings.

With less than a minute remaining before the break, Kiara Tshimanga restored parity at 14–14—the scoreline as the teams headed into halftime.

Once again, Team Esbjerg came flying out of the blocks in the second half.

National team back Helene Kindberg quickly extended the lead to 21–17, providing some much-needed breathing room for the home side.

The decisive blow came with 15 minutes left to play, as the Solberg twins took center stage: Silje Solberg produced her third save since the break, and at the other end, Sanna Solberg scored on the counter-attack to make it 25–19.
