Danish international handball Helena Elver ,who was one of the key profiles for Denmark to reach the final of the European championships in December last year, will leave Odense at the end of this season. This is confirmed by the club on their website.

It is a desire to "challenge herself outside of Denmark" that has prompted Elver to make use of a clause in his contract to leave the club.

"I have developed as a person and as a player here in Odense, and therefore I am also ready for a new adventure after the summer. I will do everything to finish as well as possible", says Helena Elver in a press release.

Elver has been in Odense since 2019, and in that time she has experienced a bit of everything.

"Her story speaks for itself. Two nasty cruciate ligament injuries and a comeback to handball when most people thought it was impossible. But you get far with will and a great love for handball, and she has played at an amazingly high level especially in the autumn," says Trine Nielsen, sports director at Odense Håndbold.

"Now the adventure must have a new chapter. While I am really sad that she is leaving Odense Handball, I am also proud of the part that the club has played in her way to the top", says Trine Nielsen.

Helena Elver and Odense have so far won all their matches in the Danish league this season and they are also among the favourites to win the Champions League trophy this season.
