The world's best female handball player, Henny Reistad, is playing her final season with Team Esbjerg. The Norwegian star is leaving the club this summer after six seasons, having made a greater impact than any player ever has before.

"The first word that comes to mind is gratitude—on behalf of Team Esbjerg, the Danish league, and myself—for having had Henny here for six seasons," says head coach Tomas Axnér.

He highlights Henny Reistad’s personality and her exceptionally high level of professional skill, and is pleased that such a complete handball player has also been able to develop further during his three seasons at the club.

Henny Reistad joined Team Esbjerg in the summer of 2021 from the then-Norwegian champions, Vipers Kristiansand—a club with whom she won the EHF Champions League prior to her transfer.

Her achievements since 2020 speak for themselves: Olympic gold, two World Championship titles, and three European titles with Norway—the national team for which she made her debut in 2018, playing 124 matches and scoring 579 goals.

Over the past three years, she has been named the world’s best female handball player by the International Handball Federation (IHF).
