1st Period
Similar to the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, Shea Theodore scored his second goal of the series for the Golden Knights during a power play in which the Wild were called for a double-minor.
Vegas failed to capitalise again during the double-minor power play, which eventually led to something hopeful for Minnesota.
Despite failing on a power play earlier in the period themselves, Ryan Hartman made his Minnesota home crowd go wild after tying the game up with just four seconds left until intermission.
Hartman was on the receiving end of the double-minor cross-check that was called against Marco Rossi.
The Wild finished the first outshooting Vegas 12-8 while winning a stellar 78.6 percent of the face-offs.
2nd Period
Jack Eichel provided the lone piece of excitement during the second period after putting the Golden Knights up 2-1 with just under four minutes left in the period.
Both teams failed on their respective power plays during the second, ending the period with Golden Knights up by one, leaving the Minnesota crowd starting to get nervous as their hopes to force a Game 7 started to dwindle.
3rd Period
After an uneventful start to the third period, with close goals but no results, Kirill Kaprizov committed a minor tripping penalty with 8:30 left to go in the game to put Vegas on the power play.
Yet the Wild killed it after a fantastic effort from their penalty kill.
It wasn't until just under four minutes after Mark Stone redirected the puck in mid-air to score his 39th career playoff goal, which gave the Golden Knights a commanding 3-1 lead.
But Minnesota didn't let it phase them after Hartman scored his second goal of the game just 31 seconds afterwards to shorten the lead back to one.
Minnesota went with the empty net with two minutes to go in the period and held possession in Vegas' end for the 50 seconds before the Golden Knights iced the puck. They iced the puck again with 19.8 seconds left to which the Wild still managed to keep the puck in Vegas' end the entire time.
Unfortunately for Minnesota, they failed to score.
The Vegas Golden Knights take the series with an intense 3-2 win, marking Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury's final game of his NHL career.
This is now the fourth time in the past five years the Wild have failed to get past the first round. Meanwhile, this is the second time the Golden Knights advanced past the first round in the past three years - with the last one being in 2023 when they went on to win the Stanley Cup Finals.
