Lazio have now only won once in 10 Serie A games at the Stadio Olimpico, but rescued a late point from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Parma and edge themselves closer to the precious European spots.

Lazio’s poor home form looked set to continue after just three minutes, as Parma opened the scoring for only the second time in their last 12 away matches.

Emanuele Valeri’s pass found Jacob Ondrejka in the box, and he beautifully caressed the ball into the bottom corner.

Simon Sohm threatened to double Parma’s lead in what was an encouraging start for the visitors, but his shot was gathered by Christos Mandas.

The Biancocelesti grew into the first half though, as Nicolo Rovella side-footed just wide from the edge of the area, before Taty Castellanos’ effort forced Zion Suzuki into his first save just before the half-hour mark.

Castellanos also had a goal disallowed for offside before half-time, but despite Lazio going into the break with more control over proceedings, Parma stunned them with another goal immediately after the restart.

It was again Ondrejka who struck – this time with an even better finish – firing home from further out and seeing his shot go in off the post.

Mateo Pellegrino should then have put victory beyond doubt shortly after as he was through on goal, but Mandas was equal to his effort.

Luca Pellegrini then had a chance down the other end, and this time it was Suzuki’s turn to save from close range. However, Mandas once again outdid his custodian counterpart by tipping over a Dennis Man strike soon after.

And that proved significant as the hosts halved the deficit in the latter stages, with Pedro firing into the top corner.

Astonishingly, the Spaniard then completed his quickfire brace as he headed home Pellegrini’s cross to spare Lazio’s blushes.

While the draw ended the Biancocelesti’s impressive 11-game winning home streak against Parma, the visitors will be equally as disappointed to have blown a two-goal lead so late on.

As a consequence, they have still only won once on their league travels all season.
