A late equaliser from super-sub Gvidas Gineitis ensured Torino came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Lazio, who are now winless in four games for the first time since March 2024.

The opening exchanges were scrappy, with neither team able to really grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

The hosts, who suffered their heaviest loss in a decade by being beaten 5-0 by Bologna last time out, eventually grew into the contest, with Mattia Zaccagni forcing a fine save from Vanja Milinkovic-Savic as he latched onto a rebound but saw a fiercely struck first-time shot palmed over the bar.

The Torino goalkeeper was nearly left red-faced moments later when he came off his line to clear a long ball, only to take his eye off the ball and gift possession to Pedro.

The Serb somehow scrambled back to save the shot, though, before Gustav Isaksen was teed up and found the side netting.

At the other end, the Bulls’ best chance came after Cesare Casadei dispossessed Alessio Romagnoli and crossed to Che Adams, who saw a tame effort easily cleared.

That proved to be the final real opening of a sloppy first half, but Torino came even closer after the interval through Guillermo Maripan, who had a bullet header palmed over the bar.

By the hour mark, Marco Baroni’s men had taken the lead though, with Pedro laying off to Adam Marusic, who ran on to a perfectly weighted pass and curled a superb strike into the far corner from just outside the box.

It could have been 2-0 shortly afterwards, had Milinkovic-Savic not stuck out a long leg to deny Zaccagni after a mazy run into the box, before Matteo Guendouzi slid a low effort from 20 yards agonisingly wide.

It looked like Lazio were heading for a first clean sheet in seven outings, but their resistance was finally broken by Gineitis - one of numerous attacking substitutions thrown on by Paolo Vanoli, who crashed a first-time finish home after a cross deflected into his path.

I Biancocelesti nearly hit back immediately, but Tijjani Noslin had an acrobatic effort saved, as they ultimately had to settle for a third 1-1 draw in four outings, whereas Torino have now scored in eight successive away fixtures, the longest current streak in Serie A.
