Dallas Stars goalie Jake Oettinger earned the shutout in a 5-0 win over the San Jose Sharks, while the Philadelphia Flyers remain one of the five winless teams almost a full week into the new season.

Stars 5-0 Sharks

The Sharks managed to put only 13 shots on goal as their young star, Macklin Celebrini, is out with a lower-body injury. Oettinger's first shutout of the season also marked the 17th of his career.

Five different players scored for the Stars, including Mikko Rantanen, who earned his first of the season.

Lightning 4-1 Flyers

The Flyers join the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Los Angeles Kings as the only five teams without a win yet so far this season. Their -12 goal differential is the second-worst in the league, just ahead of the Flames (-13).

Brayden Point, Pontus Holmberg, Ilya Mikheyev, and Brandon Hagel all scored their first this season as the Lightning outshot the Flyers 36-14.

Senators 4-1 Bruins

Tim Stutzle scored his first two goals of the season, one being shorthanded, which gave the Sens a 2-0 lead in the first period. Drake Batherson and Michael Amadio tacked on in the second to put the game out of reach.

Ottawa remain the only team in the Eastern Conference without a single loss as they improved to 2-0-0.

Jets 3-2 Penguins

The Jets rallied for three goals in the third period after Ben Kindel put the Penguins up 1-0 in the second for his second goal of the season.

Alex Iafall tied things up with his first goal of the season almost five minutes in the third before he assisted on Adam Lowry's first goal just a few minutes later to take the lead.

Kindel later assisted Declan Carlile on his second goal of the season that tied things up 2-2 almost two minutes later. But Cole Perfetti responded just nine seconds later to put the Jets back on top en route to their second win of the season.

Goaltender Clay Stevenson earned his first win and just the fourth of his career.
