Panthers 4-3 Bruins

It was Brad Marchand's first return to Boston since the team traded him last year. In his emotional return, Marchand picked up an assist on the first goal of the game, credited to teammate Mackie Samoskevich (2).

A.J. Greer (2) would put the Panthers up 2-0 before Pavel Zacha (2) and Elias Lindholm (3) tied it up for Boston.

Eetu Luostarinen scored his first goal of the season, also assisted by Marchand (6), to put the Panthers up 3-2.

Boston's Morgan Geekie (3) would tie it up 3-3 before Carter Verhaeghe (2) would send one home with less than 30 seconds left in the game to win it for the now 4-4-0 Panthers.

The Bruins fell to 3-5-0, now having lost five straight after their 3-0-0 start.

Devils 5-2 Maple Leafs

Jack Hughes put up a hat trick against the Leafs and now has six goals in the past three games.

Teammates Cody Glass (2) and Brenden Dillon (1) scored the other two as the Devils improved to 5-1-0.

John Tavares (4) and Matias Maccelli (1) both scored for Toronto, with William Nylander racking up his 10th and 11th assists on the year - tied for most in the NHL alongside Vegas' Mark Stone.

Toronto fell to 3-3-1 on the year with the loss.

Oilers 3-2 Ottawa

Edmonton's Adam Henrique played in his 1,000th game during Tuesday's action.

He didn't record a point, but Oilers rookie Isaac Howard did score his first career goal off a Leon Draisaitl assist in the second period.

Connor McDavid scored his first goal of the season during the first period prior to Howard's.

But Ottawa's Dylan Cozens (4) and Thomas Chabot (1) scored in the third to send it into overtime, where defenceman Jake Walman scored his first of the season and the game-winner for Edmonton.

The Oilers improve to 3-3-1, the Senators fall to 2-4-1.

Islanders 4-3 Sharks

Islanders rookie Matthew Schaefer picked up his first multi-point game in the team's close win over the winless Sharks.

After Collin Graf (1) put the Sharks up 1-0, Schaefer racked up an assist on teammate Bo Horvat's (5) goal to tie it up 1-1.

Sharks rookie Michael Misa, who was taken No. 2 overall behind Schaefer in the 2025 NHL Draft, recorded his first NHL point with an assist on Adam Gaudette's (2) goal to tie it up 2-2.

Fast forward to the third period, Schaefer would put up his second goal of the season to put the Islanders up 4-2 and his first multi-point game.

Schaefer now has at least one assist in five of the Islanders' six games as they improved to 3-3-0.

San Jose remains winless at 0-4-2, being the only team in the NHL who have yet to win a game this season.

Kings 2-1 Blues

Andrian Kempe assisted on teammate Alex Laferriere's first goal of the season to put the Kings up 1-0 in the second period before scoring the game-winner himself in overtime.

Justin Faulk scored his first goal of the season that sent the game into OT in the first place, but it ended up being for naught. St. Louis' 18 shots on goal were the fewest of any team during Tuesday's action.

Darcy Kuemper, who was the goalie for the Kings during the 2017-2018 season, put up 17 saves in his return with the team.

Kings improved to 2-3-2, Blues fell to 3-2-1.

Penguins 5-1 Canucks

After Conor Garland (2) put the Canucks up 1-0 in the first period, it was all Penguins from there - scoring five unanswered.

Connor Dewar (2), Tommy Novak (1), Sidney Crosby (4), Anthony Mantha (3), and Justin Brazeau (5) all scored as the Penguins improved to 5-2-0.

Crosby became the franchise's all-time points leader among both regular season and playoffs combined, surpassing the great Mario Lemieux - this is not the same as the all-time regular season points, which Crosby needs 28 more of to become the leader.

Vancouver falls to 4-3-0.

Capitals 4-1 Kraken

Nic Dowd (1), Ryan Leonard (3), and Jakob Chychrun (3) got the Caps out to a 3-0 lead in the first two periods.

Seattle's Jaden Schwartz (2) got them on the board in the third, but Washington's Tom Wilson (4) scored the empty-netter with 50 seconds left in the game to wrap it up.

Washington bounced back to improve to 5-2-0, while Seattle dropped their second straight as they fell to 3-2-2.

Ducks 5-2 Predators

After both teams exchanged goals one after the other, Cutter Gauthier (4), Beckett Sennecke (3), and Troy Terry (1) scored three straight for the Ducks en route to a win.

Nashville's Tyson Jost (1) and Filip Forsberg (2) put up the team's two goals, but it wasn't enough as they have now lost four straight, falling to 2-3-2 on the season.

Anaheim's Ross Johnston put up three points with his first goal on the year and a pair of assists.

The Ducks improve to 3-2-1.

Blue Jackets 5-1 Stars

Boone Jenner, Adam Fantilli, and Kent Johnson each had one goal and one assist during the Blue Jackets' win over the Stars.

Denton Mateychuk (1) and Dmitri Voronkov (3) scored the other two goals for the Blue Jackets as they improved to 3-3-0.

Tyler Seguin (2) scored the Stars' lone goal as their losing streak extended to three games, falling to 3-3-0 after winning their first three games.

Mammoth 4-3 Avalanche

Cale Makar (3) got the Avs out to an early 1-0 lead in the first period before Utah's Nick Schmaltz (4) tied it up 1-1 with a power play goal.

The Mammoth would double down when Lawson Crouse scored his first goal of the season to give Utah the 2-1 lead heading into the third period.
