Forret is back in the Orioles minor league system after the team traded him in a package for starting pitcher Shane Baz last season. The 22-year-old has a 3.29 ERA between Double-A (2.15) and Triple-A (4.89) this year.
Wells, 31, has a 2.67 ERA and 53 strikeouts through 54 innings. Opponents are hitting just .202 off Wells this season, the lowest it's been since his rookie season (.192).
The six-year vet has spent his entire career with the Orioles. This now makes the third trade of the deadline for the Orioles selling off major league talent for prospects.
