National League pitcher Riley O'Brien ran a sinker inside that caught Caminero on the hands, immediately sending him down in pain before he got up and ran off to the clubhouse.
Caminero grounded out in his first at-bat and was replaced by Chicago White Sox's Miguel Vargas, who made his first All-Star appearance.
*Update: X-rays came back negative after Caminero was immediately screened in the ballpark.
This is the second straight season that Caminero has made the AL All-Star Roster. He currently boasts 28 home runs and 59 RBI with a .279 batting average and .927 OPS.
The Dominican native belted 45 home runs with 110 RBI in 2025, then went on to be a big component of the DR's run during the World Baseball Classic earlier this year, hitting a whopping .350 BA with three home runs and seven RBI.
