After 16 games Allsvenskan games unbeaten and a seemingly unassailable lead at the top, Sirius have now fallen to back-to-back defeats, the latest coming at home in comprehensive style to Hacken, who improve their grip on third place.

Sirius 0-3 Hacken

Throwing away a 3-0 lead saw Sirius finally come unstuck against last year's champions Mjallby, who prevailed 4-3 as the league leader's unbeaten run extended to two games. But a first defeat at home this season introduced the side to a new form of humiliation.

Hacken, who needed a narrow win over basement-dwellers Halmstad to end a winless run last time out looked a cut above the Uppsala side when they took the lead approaching the half-hour mark. The away side had Sirius chasing shadows before the passing move ended with Mikkel Rygaard playing the ball through to Julius Lindberg, whose 20-yard drive deflected past David Celic.

Sirius, who still scored five times in their previous two winless games, managed just two efforts on goal in the 90 minutes and rarely looked like equalising before Gustav Lindgren made it 2-0 with just over an hour gone. A long ball forward was nodded on by Lindberg, and a deflection only helped it into the path of Lindgren, who buried the bouncing ball.

10 minutes from time, Getingarna added their third goal on an evening where they barely had to break sweat. Adrian Svanback got free down the right side after Sirius pushed bodies forward, and he squared for the unmarked Lindgren, who completed his brace.

A win for Hammarby over GAIS on Sunday 23rd will see Sirius' lead down to six points, just over a fortnight on from it sitting at 14 points. Successive wins have taken Hacken to within two points of Bajen for the time being, while they have a three-point cushion over AIK in fourth.
