The Ghana forward came off the bench to net the decisive goal as Royale Union Saint-Gilloise beat Anderlecht to claim the Croky Cup on Thursday.

Despite suffering a difficult season, Mohammed Fuseini came off the bench for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to score the winning goal against Anderlecht and hand his side the Croky Cup.

It's the fourth time Union Saint-Gilloise have won the Belgian Cup, and they had to do it the hard way after the match went into extra time at 1-1.

Fuseini was subbed on with five minutes remaining and restored Union Saint-Gilloise's lead just five minutes into extra time with a well-taken finish.

Kevin Rodriguez scored the third five minutes later to seal the victory for David Hubert's men.

Fuseini missed the majority of the first half of the season through injury. Though he made his return in January, he has been in and out of the team, only starting five games.

Speaking to Flashscore, the match winner admitted it was an incredible feeling to come on and score in the final. "It was an amazing feeling," he said.

"I was a bit disappointed for the time I came in. But then I just had to give my best to the team. And then I was able to have a goal to help the team win the Croky Cup."

With two goals in his last two games, Fuseini is quick to put his struggles behind him and finish the season strong.

"To be honest, I had a rough season. The beginning of the season, I was injured for half of the season. And then I really worked hard to be back.

"And these are some of the moments I really worked hard to be back with. I'm really happy, and I'm hoping to be able to get some three goals before the season ends."

But Fuseini is not stopping here. After the cup victory, the next challenge is the league title.

Union Saint-Gilloise next face Club Brugge, a club they trail at the top by just one point. Victory will put the destiny of Union Saint-Gilloise in their own hands, and the Ghanaian says he is ready.

"We have an important game on Sunday against Club Brugge. And this will be like the decisive match. For me, I'm ready, and I want to score again.

"If not two goals, one goal and then I can help the team so we can be champions of Belgium again."

Union Saint-Gilloise will play Club Brugge away on Sunday and then face Gent and Anderlecht to conclude the Belgian season.
