Pedersen, 27, has had something of a journeyman career to date, but this will be the first time he has played outside Norway.
Born in Hamar, he came through the development ranks at local side Hamarkameratene before moving to Stabæk, where he made his professional debut.
He is the younger brother of former Norway international forward Marcus Pedersen, who also played in the Netherlands and Turkey.
After featuring for Stabæk’s reserve side, Sebastian made his first-team debut in a cup clash against FK Haugesund in August 2016, coming off the bench at the age of 17. He scored his first goal in another cup game against Lillestrøm that October.
He moved to Strømsgodset in 2018 and had a succession of loan spells over the next few years before returning to Hamarkameratene in 2020.
It was when he signed for Moss in 2021 that his career really took off, and he scored 30 goals in 72 appearances, including 42 starts, leading to a move to Sogndal in 2025.
There, he netted a further 21 goals in 45 appearances, including 41 starts, and in total he has scored 59 goals and provided nine assists in 166 appearances as a professional.
He is a former Norway junior international, having played from Under-15 to Under-21 level, but has not yet featured for the senior team.
He is not the tallest at 1.80 metres and is described by his former club Sogndal as being “most effective as a central striker, although he can also operate from the left. He likes to run for his team, harry defenders and attack space inside the penalty area”.
Pedersen has described himself as an honest, hard-working player who enjoys pressing and whose main strength is finishing. He is also willing to compete physically with centre-backs, despite not being a traditional target man.
That makes him a different type of striker from Evidence Makgopa, who is more of a traditional ‘number nine’ who is good in the air and can hold up the ball.
