According to BILD, female employees at HSV reportedly interpreted comments made by Kuntz as sexual harassment and subsequently filed complaints with the club. An external law firm has already interviewed those involved, and according to their assessment, the statements made by the affected parties are considered credible.
The report also states that during his time at HSV, Kuntz filed a complaint against persons unknown for stalking, but did not address the harassment allegations with the supervisory board. Meanwhile, those close to Stefan Kuntz have a very different perspective. His confidants allegedly believe that BILD is launching a "smear campaign" against Kuntz.
HSV fans on social media are divided on the issue. At the beginning of the year, the former sports director stepped down, saying, "Sometimes there are more important things than football. That is the case now. I don't want to say anything more about it and ask that this be respected."
Kuntz Issues a Statement
On Sunday evening, Stefan Kuntz personally addressed the allegations. On Instagram, the former sports director wrote: "I have received numerous inquiries regarding the current reports about me. First of all, I want to say that these accusations have hit me hard. One thing is clear: I categorically reject these allegations!"
He also stated that he would take legal action: "For the sake of my family and everyone close to me, I have asked my lawyers (Schertz Bergmann law firm) to take action against these FALSE accusations and prejudgments."
