Red Bull Salzburg star Oscar Gloukh is set to join Ajax with the two sides inches away from a full agreement, according to several Dutch sources.

The 21-year-old Gloukh has been linked with Ajax shortly after Raul Moro joined the Amsterdam side on July 15th. The Israeli midfielder would fill a big hole in the Ajax midfield, which has lacked creativity in recent seasons.

A rather dramatic transfer saga ensued, with German outfits RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart joining the race. Still, Gloukh always prioritised joining Ajax, the midfielder and his agent, Rafaela Pimienta, stated on several occasions.

But a full agreement didn't materialise. Until Monday, when multiple Dutch sources confirmed Ajax and Salzburg are minute details away from an agreement on the Glouk transfer, which will reportedly cost Ajax around €15 million.

Voetbal International's Tim van Duijn reports that the move is now almost certain to be completed. ESPN reports that Gloukh, who will sign a five-year contract in Amsterdam, will not feature in Salzburg's UEFA Champions League qualifier against SK Brann this Wednesday.

In his last two seasons for Red Bull Salzburg, the emerging Gloukh scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists in 55 Bundesliga appearances. The attacking midfielder provided three assists in last season's Champions League and scored one goal in the recent FIFA Club World Cup.
