Former Feyenoord starlet Santiago Gimenez (23) hopes his former team make it far in the UEFA Champions League after eliminating AC Milan in the knock-out phase.

Gimenez spent a total of two-and-a-half years at Feyenoord and scored a total of 65 goals in 105 appearances for the Rotterdam club. During his time there, the Mexican won the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup, and the Johan Cruyff Shield.

"Of course, there were a lot of emotions involved, But leaving was a good experience. I'm just very sad now because we didn't reach the next round. We have to learn from this. My congratulations go to Feyenoord and I hope they get very far."
