Stina Blackstenius' goal seven minutes after coming on as a substitute made the difference as Arsenal beat Barcelona 1-0 in the UEFA Women's Champions League final in Lisbon. Here are two stats for each team following the match.

Arsenal: Gunners overjoyed

7 - Arsenal won their second Women's Champions League, 18 years on from their previous success. After Turbine Potsdam and Eintracht Frankfurt, the Gunners are the third different team to win the competition under the UWCL banner, as well as the old UEFA Women's Cup.

Overall, they are the seventh different team to win the UWCL on multiple occasions. Of the seven sides, they are the only ones to have never lost a final. If considering all of the tournament's winners, only one other side have seldom been beaten in the showpiece (FCR Duisburg).

10 - Arsenal's victory also ended a nine-year run of the competition being won by either OL Lyonnes (formerly Olympique Lyonnais Feminin) and Barcelona.

Before that, Frankfurt were the last team to come out victorious in the competition. The North London team have now become the first team since that Frankfurt side to win the UWCL, but not their domestic league. Of course, Chelsea had completed the domestic treble.

Barcelona: Heartbreak for Catalans

3 - Barcelona have lost a UWCL final for the second time, after consecutive wins. Three years on from defeat to OL Lyonnes, the Catalan side now fall at the hands of English opposition once more. In fact, the club's last three losses in the UWCL have come against a side from England.

They were also defeated on matchday 1 by Manchester City, while losing one of their semi-final ties against Chelsea last term. Overall, it was Barca's seventh defeat against WSL sides in the competition all-time (8-2-7). That accounts for nearly half of their 18 defeats in the tournament's history.

2 - The Liga F winners are no strangers to scoring in their matches. After all, they scored four goals a game in the 2024/25 Women's Champions League.

Remarkably, despite this, it was the second time in not just the UWCL, but all competitions, that Barca failed to find the back of the net. They have played 48 matches this term, with one more still to come. Across those games, they have scored 202 times. As such, it is remarkable to think that they were kept off the scoresheet at all this season.
