Danish newcomer Isak Jensen made his full debut for AZ as he replaced Ro-Zangelo Daal on the left wing. Captain Jordy Clasie returned to AZ's starting lineup in the UEFA Conference League, replacing Zico Buurmeester in midfield.

An unremarkable first half saw neither side get close to a goal as both Levski Sofia and AZ failed to aim one shot on target.
After Ghanaian AZ winger Ibrahim Sadiq optimistically tried his luck from the halfway - and saw his wishful shot go out for a throw-in - the Alkmaar side took the lead through Sadiq, who, despite his lack of height at 1.67m, headed the visitors in front from an Isak Jensen cross.
Irish hitman Troy Parrott doubled AZ's lead just six minutes after Sadiq's goal, tapping in a rebound after Peer Koopmeiners saw Levski stopper Svetoslav Vutsov stop his attempt from the the penalty spot.
Levski got close in the final stages of the match when Everton Bala fired his free kick on Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro's post.
That was all the danger Levski Sofia could create against AZ, who took home a comfortable 2-0 lead and will defend this lead in Alkmaar next week, when Levski visit the Netherlands on Thursday, August 28th.
