Wednesday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland paired seeded Brondby with HB Torshavn from the Faroe Islands.
Also Silkeborg, who were also seeded, have good opportunities to advance, as the team will face Icelandic KA Akureyri in the second round.
The matches in the second qualifying round will be played as a starting point on 24 and 31 July.
In order to reach the main tournament in the Conference League, the Danish teams must successfully go through a total of three qualification rounds.
Brøndby qualified for Europe via their third place in the Superliga, while Silkeborg, after finishing in seventh place, won the European playoff match against the league's top four, Randers.
