FC Copenhagen striker Magnus Mattsson says it was the worst possible outcome for the Danish club when the former Danish champions were drawn against Chelsea in the last 16 of the Conference League.

"Chelsea is a big club and has a good team. It's the best of the two teams we could have drawn, but that's the way it is. We are looking forward to playing two super-cool matches", says the striker to FCK TV.

Jacob Neestrup's side finished 18th in the 36-team league phase, notably beating Hearts of Scotland, before eliminating German Bundesliga side Heidenheim in extra-time in the play-off round.

The Danes managed to proceed to  the last 16 of last season's Champions League before losing to Manchester City.

Chelsea won 2-0 on aggregate when the teams met in the Champions League last 16 in 2011.

The last-16 first legs take place on Thursday March 6 with the return fixtures on Thursday March 13.
