The former Liverpool player and 104-time Dutch international left Beerschot by mutual agreement on Friday. Kuyt criticised the club in earlier interviews for being unprofessional, stating he "decided that I couldn't and didn't want to continue like this."
Four days after his Beerschot dismissal, the Katwijk-born former workhorse has been presented by former Eredivisie side FC Dordrecht as their new manager. Dordrecht were looking for a replacement for Melvin Boel, who left the club to join Europa League outfit Go Ahead Eagles.
The Dordrecht job is Kuyt's third in professional football. Kuyt started his managerial career at ADO Den Haag in 2022, but was fired after 17 games in charge. With Beerschot, Kuyt won the Belgian second division before finishing in last in the Belgian Pro League.
FC Dordrecht finished fifth in last year's Eerste Divisie before being eliminated in the promotion play-offs by Willem II after penalties.
