Kasper Dolberg is Ajax's reported top target as the Amsterdam giants look to get a replacement for departing striker Brian Brobbey.

The 23-year-old Brobbey is reportedly set to join Premier League side Sunderland for a reported initial fee of €20 million. Through easily obtainable bonuses, Ajax could see the fee rise to €25 million.

The Ajax academy product struggled mightily last season, netting just three goals in 30 Eredivisie matches. Across all competitions, the Dutch striker scored just seven goals in 44 games.

This season, Brobbey has yet to play a minute for Ajax after suffering a knee injury in the final preseason match against AS Monaco. Last weekend, Brobbey was left out of the squad for the clash against FC Volendam. The striker was reportedly 'not fully focused' as transfer talks with Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes continued.

Kasper Dolberg new top target

If Brobbey leaves, Ajax will pursue a deal for Anderlecht striker Kasper Dolberg. De Telegraaf reports that Dolberg, 27, wants to rejoin Ajax after spending four years in Amsterdam earlier in his career.

Mike Verweij and Jeroen Kapteijns write that Ajax are exploring the possibilities of a transfer for Dolberg, who's also being chased by Celtic, who've reportedly put in a bid of €9 million for the Dane's services.

Anderlecht are eager to sell Dolberg to raise funds that the club missed out on by not qualifying for European football. It is reported that the Pro League outfit demand €10 million for Dolberg.

The Danish striker played for Ajax between 2015 and 2019, having left Silkeborg in January 2015. Dolberg broke through at Ajax and scored 45 goals for the Amsterdam side in 120 games. The Dane left Ajax in January 2020 for Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice.

After playing for Hoffenheim and Sevilla on loan, Dolberg landed at Anderlecht in 2023. In two seasons at the Brussels side, Dolberg notched 39 goals in 87 games. So far this season, the Dane scored five goals in nine matches across all competitions.
