Matthijs Branderhorst (Fortuna Sittard) - 8.7

Branderhorst couldn't save his team from losing 2-0 to AZ, though it was hard after Ole Romeny was sent off after just five minutes. If anything, Branderhorst was the reason Fortuna were still alive after nearly an hour - the stopper recorded 9 saves, 5 of which came in the last 30 minutes, when AZ really began to pick up steam.

Defenders

Mauro Jr. (PSV) - 8.3

PSV were a class above FC Groningen on Sunday. The reigning champions showed the joint leaders who was boss with a resounding 5-1 win, and as always, Mauro Junior had a hand in that win. The Brazilian led PSV in passes in the final third (28), touches (87), completed passes (67), and possessions won (6), while also assisting Ivan Perisic's 2-1.

Armando Obispo (PSV) - 8.1

PSV were dominant against FC Groningen and their backline deserves a lot of praise after some shaky weeks. Armando Obispo stepped up massively, recording 3 clearances, including one from the goal line, 3 recoveries, and 61 passes. An important showing with Lutsharel Geertruida looking to take over from the Curacao international.

Sergino Dest (PSV) - 8.3

Sergino Dest is an incredibly consistent factor for PSV. The Dutch-American full-back has outgrown the Eredivisie and starred against Fortuna Sittard with one goal, 55 completed passes, 3 recoveries, and 4 won duels.

Midfielders

Dylan Mbayo (PEC Zwolle) - 8.2

Mbayo was sent to France in the second half of last season after failing to make an impression in the Eredivisie. Whether he learned something at Lavel or not, he proved his worth against Heerenveen, providing as many assists as all of last season (2) in his side's 2-0 win. Mbayo completed both of his dribbles, created three total chances, was fouled four times, and recorded a 100% pass completion rate.

Gjivai Zechiel (Feyenoord) - 8.7

It is no that Gjivai Zechiel is attracting interest from Lille, who are looking for an Ayyoub Bouaddi replacement. Zechiel is flourishing after two loan spells and added two goals to his season total against Cambuur, showing great football IQ in the build-up. The 22-year-old also completed 30 of 33 passes, had 7 progressive carries, and 4 recoveries in Feyenoord's 5-2 win.

Peer Koopmeiners (AZ) - 8.7

It was very hard to pick a bad aspect from Peer Koopmeiners' game against Fortuna Sittard. The midfield maestro completed 99 of 101 pass attempts and recorded a staggering 123 touches in his side's 2-0 win. There weren't many backpasses among those as well, with Koopmeiners attempting 75 passes in the final third and completing 73 of those.

Soren Tengstedt (Go Ahead Eagles) - 8.7

Danish playmaker Soren Tengstedt is on a roll at Go Ahead Eagles. The 26-year-old scored for the fourth Eredivisie game running and provided a fantastic assist for Victor Edvardsen's 2-0, setting his Norwegian colleague up with a delightful backheel pass. He also completed 4 total dribbles and won 4 possessions, making it a perfect Sunday outing in the Eagles' 3-1 win over ADO Den Haag.

Forwards

Ivan Perisic (PSV) - 9.2 (PotW)

At 37 years old, Ivan Perisic still oozes class. The Croatian talisman scored twice against FC Groningen and did not shy away from getting involved further, winning 7 of 10 duels, including 2 tackles, creating one big chance, and recording a total of 5 shots, more than any other player in the game.

Jizz Hornkamp (AZ) - 8.9

It's been a tough time at AZ for Jizz Hornkamp. He was the main man at Heracles Almelo before joining the Alkmaar outfit in January 2026, but was soon hit with the injury bug. Saturday's game against Fortuna Sittard was his first for AZ since March, and what a way to come back it was - Hornkamp scored both of AZ's goal in his 45-minute cameo, while getting all 5 of his shots on target.

After Troy Parrott's departure, it sure is very good for Leeroy Echteld to have Hornkamp back.

Calvin Stengs (AZ) - 8.7

Another player who Echteld is glad to have back in AZ's ranks is Calvin Stengs, the former wonderkid who left the club for an adventure at OGC Nice in 2021. After five years, he returned home, and it took no time whatsoever to be of value again - he scored against ADO Den Haag on matchday 1 and was on fire in his 45-minute cameo against Fortuna Sittard, creating 5 chances and setting Jizz Hornkamp up for the 2-0.
