Goalkeeper

Joel Drommel (FC Twente) - 8.9

FC Twente took a huge step to get closer to their rivals with a 2-0 away win at AZ on Sunday evening, and they largely had Joel Drommel to thank for that. Drommel stopped two big chances and recorded five total saves in one of the just two clean sheets from the league this past weekend.

Defenders

Morgan Costarelli (SC Cambuur) - 9.2

It was the big Cambuur show this weekend. The Frisians won 6-1 away at Willem II, and French left-back Morgan Costarelli was an absolute star in Tilburg, providing 2 assists, creating 3 big chances, winning 3 tackles, and winning 7 of 10 duels. Just a great display on both sides of the ball for the 21-year-old.

Ismael Baouf (SC Cambuur) - 8.3

Staying in Tilburg, Ismael Baouf also contributed massively to the 6-1 rout. The Moroccan centre-half notched 2 interceptions, won 7/10 duels, made 4 clearances, and made a crucial block, while also scoring the 3-0.

Dies Janse (Ajax) - 8.5

Ajax sent young Dies Janse out on loan last year, and he came back a man. The defender from Zeeland started the last two Eredivisie games for Michel Sanchez's team and hasn't looked out of place once. Against Sparta, Janse won all six duels, recorded eight clearances, completed 70 of 76 passes on a game-high 94 touches, and made a game-saving goal-line block late in the game.

Midfielders

Soren Tengstedt (Go Ahead Eagles) - 8.6

Soren Tengstedt is unstoppable right now. The Danish forward scored twice in the Eagles' 3-2 win over Telstar on Friday, making him the first player to score in five consecutive Eagles home games in the Eredivisie. His brace also made him the Eredivisie's top scorer, along with a fellow Nordic star you'll hear about later...

Darko Nejasmic (NEC Nijmegen) - 8.5

NEC hoped beating Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday would kickstart a new winning run. FC Groningen halted their efforts, but it wasn't down to Darko Nejasmic, whose assist put NEC in place for a comeback and 57 accurate passes, of which 16 progressive and 9 long, and 12 won duels were instrumental to picking up a hard-fought point.

Julian Brandt (Ajax) - 8.4

Julian Brandt has been nothing short of sensational since arriving in the Eredivisie. Against Sparta, the former Dortmund star recorded his first league assists, setting up Abdellah Ouazane for the opener and Tolu for the 2-1 on the verge of half-time, while completing 28 passes in the final third and recording 8 accurate layoffs, 3 progressive carries, and winning a tackle.

Ilyes Hamache (SC Cambuur) - 8.6

Back to Cambuur, where Ilyes Hamache continued his fine form with a breathtaking performance against Willem II. 4 successful dribbles kept Cambuur fans on the edge of their seats, while his goal and assist got them out of their seats. The Frenchman was a handful for Willem II defenders.

Forwards

Jacob Trenskow (Heerenveen) - 9.2

Storm Boelo tormented the Netherlands and The Hague, but Jacob Trenskow tormented ADO. The Danish forward has started his season in fine form and continued it with a brace on Saturday, while also creating a big chance and recording a game-high 8 touches in ADO's box.

Brynjolfur Willumsson (FC Groningen) - 8.8

Icelandic striker Brynjolfur Willumsson has proven he can score outside August as well. Against NEC, Willumsson opened the scoring from a corner in the 11th minute before completing his brace 20 minutes later by outmuscling Ahmetcan Kaplan and tapping home from short range. Besides topping the Eredivisie top scorer's list with 8 goals alongside Tengstedt, he also ended the game with a goal-line clearance.

Anis Hadj Moussa (Feyenoord) - 8.9

Hadj Moussa couldn't win Feyenoord the game and was rather quiet in the first half, but came alive in the second, completing 5 dribbles and scoring the equaliser in typical Hadj Moussa fashion, curling the ball well into Matej Kovar's far corner. The Algerian winger was close to scoring the winner, too, in a great game against PSV.
