27-year-old Hancko, who wore the captain's armband in Sunday's 3-2 home loss to PSV, is reportedly being chased by major European clubs, among which Juventus and Atletico Madrid stand out. According to the defender himself, however, none of these rumours carries any weight.
"I will speak about it after the season, but it's really difficult for me," Hancko told ESPN. "It looks like I have a lot of options, but the truth is a little bit different.
The huge interest from clubs is not true. If I can clarify one thing: unfortunately, there's nothing from Europe."
Hancko joined Feyenoord from Sparta Prague in the Summer of 2023 and quickly grew to become one of the best defenders in the Eredivisie. Speculation of the Slovak joining Juventus did the rounds last summer and even in January, but never came to fruition.
'Most painful day in years'
The Slovakian defender also spoke out about Feyenoord's game against PSV. The Rotterdam side jumped to a quick 2-0 lead, but crumbled apart in the second half and conceded the 3-2 in the tenth minute of stoppage time.
"At the start, we did everything exactly as we did in training. In the build-up, we played the long ball, so that's where our chances were. We created chances and goals with that," said Hancko. "We also had two more chances at the start of the second half, but didn't manage to get much out of them."
"This is the most painful day for me in my years at Feyenoord. We got tired as a team and maybe don't have the experience to change things yet. We will analyse that.
"On the one hand, I am proud of how we played in the first half, but in the second half, you clearly saw PSV's quality."
