Finland Women head coach Marko Saloranta has named the 23-player squad that will head to Switzerland for the 2025 UEFA Women's European Championship.

The headline news was that Leicester City's Jutta Rantala is back in the Boreal Owls' setup after a year away that has been plagued by injuries.

"Full-time training this week, all contact, no problems, the result looks good. I am extremely happy for Jutta and the team," said Saloranta when announcing his squad.

Defender Natalia Kuikka has also been passed fit after a spell on the sidelines, but there is no place in the squad for Elli Pikkujamsa.

Top scorer and all-time record cap holder Linda Sallstrom will be looking to add to her tally of 62 international goals, 16 years on from scoring against England at UEFA Women's Euro 2009.

Finland will be in action on the opening day when they face Iceland on 2nd July in Thun. They then meet Norway in Sion on 6th July before completing their Group A campaign against hosts Switzerland on 10th July in Geneva.

And the head coach is optimistic of his side's chances of progressing.

"Iceland suits us well, we played a good match against them almost two years ago, they have pretty much the same group. Norway is a different type, maybe the number one favourite in the group. I believe we can tear (our opponents) apart with at least two wins."

UEFA Women's Euro 2025 will be Finland's fifth European Championship appearance, and they are yet to better their Semi-final exit on their debut in 2005.
