The UEFA Europa League has one matchday of league phase football to go. Matchday 7 produced some incredible drama throughout the week. Here is one stat from each of the 18 games.

7 - Dynamo Kyiv launched a comeback in their 3-3 draw against Galatasaray on Tuesday. In doing so, the Ukrainians ended a run of seven straight defeats in the Europa League proper, going back to the 2022/23 season. However, they are still 15 without a victory in the competition.

21 - Besiktas kept their hopes of progression alive after they beat Athletic Club 4-1 at home. The Turks are now in the top 24, and face a do-or-die match next week. The result was Besiktas' fourth win over Spanish opposition, with the last one coming 21 years ago. That also happened to come against Athletic at this stage of the UEFA Cup.

12 - It turned out that Qarabag could not replicate the magic from last season. The Azeris fell 3-2 at home to FCSB, eliminating them from the competition. Not only have they lost all four of their home matches this term, but they have also conceded 12 times, the most of any team.

8 - Viktoria Plzen qualified for the Europa League knockout rounds after an impressive 2-0 home victory over Anderlecht. Having gone unbeaten in their eight European ties this term - qualifiers included - the Belgians are finally defeated. It is also the first time Anderlecht have been beaten by a Czech team, at the eighth time of asking.

2 - Twente earned a massive 2-1 result in Sweden against Malmo, eliminating their opponents in the process. It was just the second time that the side from Enschede have prevailed against Swedish opposition, and the first time away. The only previous occasion was back in 1980, when they topped Goteborg 5-1 in the UEFA Cup.

5 - Hoffenheim were beaten for the third time in their last five matches, as Tottenham went away with a 3-2 win. The Bundesliga side have not done well versus Premier League teams in Europe. In what was their fifth such match, it was also their fifth defeat. The one positive for them was that they managed to score in this one, just as they did in the other four games.

27 - Fenerbahce and Lyon could not find the back of the net in a goalless draw in Istanbul. The result leaves the former needing to get the job done on the final day to advance, while Lyon is sitting pretty for a top-eight spot. It is the first time since 2019 that the Ligue 1 side have been involved in a goalless game, with 27 matches happening since a 0-0 stalemate against Barcelona in the Champions League last 16.

1 - Porto were beaten 1-0 against Olympiakos, sending the Greeks through. The two-time winners of the competition are in serious danger of being knocked out of the Europa League at the group phase for the very first time. While this is just their third time competing at this stage of the competition under its current guise, the defeat was Porto's first-ever home loss in a UEL group phase. They were unbeaten in their previous nine (6-3-0).

9 - Bodo/Glimt have had a habit of making their home matches very difficult for their opponents. The Norwegian champions topped Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-1 to successfully negotiate the UEL group stage/league phase for the very first time. They have also scored nine times across their four ties, a tally only bettered by Galatasaray (13) and Ajax (10).

6 - It was a massive win for AZ Alkmaar as they edged AS Roma 1-0 in the Netherlands to advance to the knockout stages. AZ just seem to love facing Italian opponents, as the win over Roma was their sixth over a Serie A side in nine matches (6-1-2). It is also three wins on the spin in such matches for the 1980/81 UEFA Cup finalists.

3 - Union Saint-Gilloise were in a precarious position midway through this UEL league phase. Yet, it is the Belgian side who progresses thanks to a 2-1 victory over Sporting Braga. Playing in their third straight European season, Union are now on a three-game winning streak as they will play knockout round football in the Europa League for the second time in three seasons.

19 - RFS pulled off what might just be the biggest upset of the competition this season, as the Latvian champions shocked Ajax 1-0 in Riga. While it was not enough to keep them in the running for a place in the knockout stage, it is still a remarkable achievement for the club. It was not only their first win in a European club competition proper, but also for Latvia as a whole, in what was a 19th group game for a Latvian club.

0 - Slavia Praha are out of Europe after a 2-0 reverse to PAOK in Greece. It is a massive disappointment for the Czech club, after having made the round of 16 last term. After winning their opening game of the league phase on the road, Slavia were not able to pick up another victory, losing their last five. In their last three away games, they were kept off the scoresheet.

4 - Manchester United left it late, but they got the job done at home with a 2-1 success over Rangers. Both teams will feature in the knockout stages of the UEL, with the Red Devils on the cusp of sealing a place in the last 16. Just as they did two years ago, United are on a four-game winning streak in the Europa League, and are one of three sides alongside Lazio and Galatasaray to be unbeaten in the competition this term.

16 - Ludogorets failed to score in the Europa League for the fifth time this league phase, with their 2-0 home defeat to Midtjylland eliminating them with a game to play. Yet, the Bulgarian champions mustered 16 shots in the match, the most they have managed to do in the competition this term.

13 - Lazio are the only team to be assured a place in the last 16 of the tournament after they prevailed 3-1 over 10-men Real Sociedad. The Biancocelesti need just one point next week to secure top spot in the league phase, where they have thoroughly impressed. Their +13 goal difference is the best in the competition.

10 - Elfsborg are nearing a place in the knockout rounds after beating NIce 1-0 in Sweden. The result also ended the French side's hopes of progression. A point on the final matchday will see Elfsborg, who are partaking in their third UEFA Cup/Europa League proper, past this stage for the first time. The 10 points they have accumulated thus far are more than their other two previous campaigns combined (five total).

68 - Eintracht Frankfurt won for the fifth time in the Europa League this season, topping Ferencvaros 2-0. The 2021/22 winners are on the precipice of the last 16, with a point on the final day enough to see them finish in the top eight. Fradi had no shots on target in this match, as Die Adler enjoyed 68% of the possession throughout the 90 minutes.
