Unbeaten in 31 away games across the top flight of French football (W23, D8) but incidentally beaten by Monaco in their last defeat on the road in Ligue 1, PSG were millimetres away from breaking the deadlock after only four minutes with Achraf Hakimi’s cross-shot striking the inside of the post.
In response, the hosts’ top-scorer Eliesse Ben Seghir (4) saw his brilliant solo effort saved by the alert Gianluigi Donnarumma.

It was Breel Embolo’s turn to call the PSG number one into action, with the Swiss international forcing him to race from his goal line to deny the deadlock from being broken.
The save would ultimately end Donnarumma’s evening, as the aftermath saw the striker’s foot collide against the Italian keeper’s head, requiring stand-in shot-stopper Matvey Safonov to make his way into the fray.
However, that did not discourage the visitors from breaking the deadlock in the 24th minute. The in-form figure of Désiré Doué – who had three goal contributions in as many games prior to kick-off – positioned himself in the area allowing a sublimely-struck side-footed effort from Hakimi’s ball to nestle nicely into the far corner of the net.

That is how it would stay until half-time despite the goal-hungry Hakimi seeing his fierce strike expertly turned around the post by Philipp Köhn before a bullet header from Marquinhos suffered the same feat.
Those saves proved paramount, with Monaco levelling the playing field in the 53rd’ from the spot, courtesy of a confidently-taken penalty from Ben Seghir after Marquinhos had unlawfully controlled the ball with his hand.

Remarkably, the Monégasques left the reigning champions shell-shocked less than seven minutes later with Embolo’s deft touch from Maghnes Akliouche’s pin-point pass beating Safonov.
Nevertheless, Monaco’s lead did not last long, Dembélé fortuitously fired home after a game of pandemonium-esque pinball in the area.
With the game on a knife-edge Ramos was sent on for PSG with time elapsing, and it didn’t take the £80m man long to make an immediate impact, by planting an authoritative header from fellow substitute Kang-In Lee’s inswinging corner past Köhn.
A highly entertaining end-to-end contest was concluded deep into stoppage-time as Dembélé doubled his tally with an excellent one-on-one finish to extend the Parisiens’ advantage at the top to 10 points.

Meanwhile, Monaco were reduced to 10 men late on as they remain in third place.
