Danish international winger Jesper Lindstrom is likely will to miss the rest of the season after undergoing a hernia operation.

Speaking in Friday's pre-match press conference at Finch Farm before Saturdays's clash against Nottingham Forest, Everton coach David Moyes revealed that Jesper Lindstrom presumably will be sidelined for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.

"Unfortunately, Jesper has had a hernia operation yesterday (Thursday) so that will rule Jesper out, probably for most of the season now. That's disappointing for him and for us because he started to show some decent form in the past month or so and he was an important player for us."

The unexpected operation will put Lindstrom's future at Everton even more in limbo after he signed for Everton on loan from Napoli in July 2024, with an option in the agreement to make the move permanent following the 2024/25 campaign.

Lindstrom, who has played 25 matches for Everton this campaign, gradually gained at regular spot in the starting line-up under the leadership of Moyes and was also selected again for the Danish national team for the Nations League matches against Portugal.
