Ajax could soon be losing a valuable starter as right-back Devyne Rensch (21) has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Serie A side AS Roma.

De Telegraaf have reported that the 21-year-old mainstay has agreed to a 4-year contract with the three-time Serie A champions. Roma submitted a bid of 5 million euros and Turkish full back Zeki Celik, but it was rejected by Ajax, who demand 10 million euros for the Dutch international.

Rensch's contract at Ajax expires this summer and the two parties had reached an agreement on extending the contract until 2027, but the club had to pull the plug in the final stages due to tax reasons.

Rensch, who arrived at the club in 2016 at the age of just 13, wants to see the club receive a transfer fee after spending nigh on ten years at his boyhood team.

The offensive-minded right back made his debut for Ajax in 2020 and has since appeared in 154 games for the 36-time league winners.
