Genoa have signed 20-year old Danish central defender Sebastian Otoa from Aalborg BK.

Otoa joined the Aaborg Academy from FC Roskilde in the summer of 2021. He has played 44 official games for Aalborg and scored two goals for the club. He has been capped once for the Danish Under-21 national team.

The young central defender is overjoyed at the prospect of now playing in the Italian Serie A.

"Going to Genoa is a great opportunity for me. It's a great club in a big and strong league, where I can hopefully learn a lot, so I'm really looking forward to that."

"At the same time, however, I will miss going out to Aalborgs training center every day to teammates, coaches and everyone else in and around the club. I have been an Aalborg player for three and a half years, so the club feels like my second home, where I have been surrounded by great people", says Sebastian Otoa, who will now become team-mates with countryman Morten Frendrup at Genoa.

Aalborgs sports director James Gow is proud of the fact that Aalborg has been able to develop a player, who will now get a chance to shine in the Serie A:

"Selling a player to one of Europe's Top 5 leagues is confirmation that we are on the right track in terms of our player-development thanks to the enormous dedication from our coaches" says James Gow.

"Today, Sebastian Otoa has developed into an elegant defender who masters virtually all aspects of the game and his potential is enormous", says Gow.

Otoa could potentially already be called into a action when Geoa faces AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico Friday night.
