Como moved up to fifth in Serie A after a goal and an assist from Nico Paz secured a mightily impressive 2-0 victory over Juventus, ending the Bianconeri’s eight-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

Coming into the contest on the back of five consecutive draws across all competitions, Igor Tudor‘s side travelled to Lombardy with a three-point deficit to Inter Milan at the Serie A summit.

The Bianconeri were stunned early on against Como, as Paz’s inswinging delivery was volleyed home by Marc-Oliver Kempf at the back post inside four minutes.

Undeterred by that setback, Juventus looked to gain a foothold in the contest, with Kenan Yildiz flashing a powerful strike narrowly wide following a swift counter-attack.

The visitors continued to probe for a leveller as the first half progressed, but Cesc Fabregas' men remained a threat at the other end.

Alvaro Morata and Alberto Moreno saw efforts thwarted by Michele Di Gregorio, while Jonathan David had a goal ruled out for Juventus due to an offside against Teun Koopmeiners in the build-up.

Tudor’s side - one of two teams in Serie A yet to taste defeat in 2025/26 - were fortunate not to fall further behind at the start of the second period, as Maxence Caqueret fluffed his lines from inside the six-yard box after Di Gregorio had saved Mergim Vojvoda’s initial effort.

Grateful for that reprieve, the visitors looked to up the ante with time ticking into the final half-hour, and Koopmeiners came close to restoring parity, only for Jean Butez to deny his close-range header.

That save proved to be crucial, as Como doubled their lead in the 79th minute when Paz cut in from the right flank and curled a sublime strike into the far corner for his fourth goal of the season.

Despite a couple of late half-chances for Andrea Cambiaso and substitute Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus ultimately had no response, as Como held firm during the closing stages to leapfrog them in the table and extend their impressive home form to just one defeat in 13 matches (W8, D4).
