It was another walk in the park for three-time defending champions Galatasaray in the Super Lig, while Fenerbahce got their first victory points on the board with a relatively straightforward win of their own. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor continued their solid start to the season.

Fenerbahce were in action on Saturday, looking to get their first win of the season against newly-promoted Kocaelispor. And despite a very brief period of concern, Jose Mourinho's side claimed a simple 3-1 win, courtesy of goals from Milan Skriniar, Archie Brown and Anderson Talisca.

Fener had plenty of chances against a side that look destined to be in a relegation scrap, and they'll be concerned about the form of Jhon Duran, who is struggling to make any impact on matches at all. His all-around game looks pretty limited, and he is barely visible in games at times.

However, it was another very good performance from full-back Brown, who has been one of their best players so far this campaign. Signed from Gent this summer, the 23-year-old Englishman has plenty of technical prowess and athleticism, and his ability to bomb up and down the left wing has proven to be one of Fenerbahce's most potent attacking threats.

He looks perfect for the three at the back system they are currently playing, and after fending off interest from AC Milan to sign him for €9 million, it looks like a really good deal.

The following day, Fener's arch-rivals Galatasaray took to the pitch, and they continued their formidable start to the 2025/26 season with a thumping 4-0 triumph away at Kayserispor.

Eren Elmali, who bagged a brace, has been stellar in Galatasaray's opening games. The left-back has been filling in on the wing and has been a huge threat offensively. Incredibly, in his previous 135 games in the Super Lig, the Turk scored just a single goal. This season, he has three in three games.

Record-signing Victor Osimhen also chipped in with a tap-in from a Nicolo Zaniolo cross, while Leroy Sane had by far and away his best game for the club, scoring his first goal in the yellow and red colours.

They did all this with the backdrop of one of their key players, Baris Alper Yilmaz, who was in such red-hot form, refusing to train after demanding a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Neom.

It is an ominous sign for the rest of the league. They have won their opening three games, 3-0, 3-0 and 4-0, and they look set to be very busy in the transfer window still. Can anyone come close to stopping them?

Trabzonspor keep scraping by

Trabzonspor continued their flawless start to the season, making it three victories from three with a 1-0 win over Antalyaspor. Centre-back Stefan Savic was the hero after heading home the winner.

Interestingly, all of Trabzon's matches have resulted in the same scoreline, which showcases the fact that they have been far from convincing

For the most part against Antalyaspor, they were the dominant side and should have found the back of the net more than once. However, if it wasn't for goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, who made a couple of vital saves, they could have even potentially dropped points.

Under Fatih Tekke, they certainly seem more organised than they did against Senol Gunes. They don't look like conceding as many, which is displayed by the fact that they have yet to let in a goal this season.

They will be looking to solve the issues at the other end of the pitch, though, and find a way to be more decisive in the final third.
