Brondby were on the brink of missing out on the Championship Playoffs in the Danish Superliga when they drew 2-2 with Silkeborg IF in the final game of the regular season.

Thanks to the result Brondby finished on 33 points in the table like Silkeborg, but Brondby just managed to squeeze into the top six and get the last ticket for the playffoffs on goal difference.

The home side began the game very nervously and were punished already after ten minutes when Tonni Adamsen was handed two chances of opening the score for the guest and he converted the second one to score his first goal since 4th November against FC Copenhagen.

However, Brondby restored parity after 26 minutes when neat interplay between Yuito Suzuki and Sean Klaiber set up Nicolai Vallys who was left with an easy job of getting the match back on level terms.

A fast and furious first half continues, when the former Brondby-midfielder Jens Martin Gammelby put the visitors back in front after 36 minutes, when he curled an unstoppable shot into the far corner past the reach of Patrick Pentz to leave Brondby deeply worried as they headed for the interval.

The home crowd were made to wait for the equalizer in an anxious second half but Frederik Alves relieved the tension by pouncing on a loose ball in the box 13 minutes from the end which was enough to secure the all-important ticket for the playoffs.
