AGF's hopes of challenging FC Midtjylland, Brondby IF and reigning champions, FC Copenhagen, for the Danish title, has taken a deep blow as defensive profile Frederik Tingager has been ruled out for the rest of the year.

Tingager has been sidelined with an injury in five matches after he had to miss a home game against Silkeborg IF last month.

Since then, the injury has healed more slowly than expected, and Tingager is still unable to play.

"Tingager's injury has not healed as quickly as we had hoped, and with the type of injury he has, experience says that you should not rush the player back onto the pitch - otherwise it could become even more complicated."

"It is naturally frustrating for Frederik, who very much wants to contribute to the team and is working hard to get back. He is now getting the necessary peace of mind for that, and we therefore initially expect that he will be ready to start again after the Christmas holidays", says Head of Performance & Medical at AGF, Phil Mansfield.

AGF lost for the first time in twelve matches yesterday, 3-2 at home against Sonderjyske, and takes up third position in the Danish domestic league, one point short of FC Midtjylland
