Isak Jensen, who has got Gareth Bale as his role model, tops the statistics across Europe for goals on direct free-kicks this season and the 21-year old Viborg winger could add to his tally when Viborg face Lyngby in the Danish Superliga today.

Isak Jensen is quite unique as no one else in Europe's finest 16 leagues have scored three direct free-kicks during this season and the young winger who has suddenly shot to fame in Denmark due to his free-kick expertise is now eager to add to his goalscoring statistics when Viborg face Lyngby today in their quest to qualify for the European club competitions.

Jensen's technique is very reminiscent of the way the former Real Madrid and Tottenham star Gareth Bale used to approach free-kicks and Jensen also reveals that the former Welsh winger is his biggest role model:

"I started by watching Gareth Bale, and I thought it looked cool. I wanted to learn how to do a kick where theball swerves like that, so I've been practicing. But it's hard to say why it's just now that I'm succeeding", says Isak Jensen to TV2 Sport.

Jensen says that the sensation he gets after kicking the ball immediately tells him if his efforts has a chance of ending up in the net.

"The way that I approach the kick, you can end up looking really stupid because the ball can also sky-rocket 40 meters over the goal, but usually I have a pretty good feeling right when I hit the ball", says Isak Jensen.

Former Danish international, Jacob Poulsen, who is today coach of Viborg, was during his active days famous for his free-kick expertise, and the former AS Monaco midfielder has been impressed by Jensen's style.

"My hips are simply too stiff to kick the ball the way Isak kicks it. But when you can make that kind of freekick, you can get a lot of topspin on the ball, and that's what Isak can do. Even if the ball is close to the goal, you can get it over the wall and into the goal. It's an unusually difficult discipline, but he's mastering it at the moment, and it's great for both him and us", emphasizes Jakob Poulsen.

Viborg face Lyngby at 14.00 CET today.
