Several goalkeeping and defensive mistakes stood out as the rest of the matches in the first round of the Danish Superliga were played on Sunday, after Danish champions FC Copenhagen had kicked off their campaign with a win in Viborg on Friday.

FC Fredericia - FC Nordjaelland

After a 24-game absence, Fredericia is back in the best league in Denmark, and they celebrated their return with a goal after just 58 seconds against FC Nordsjaelland, when last season's leading goalscorer, Gustav Marcussen, gave the home side a 1-0 lead at Monjasa Park.

The unsung Superliga newcomers were, however, quickly brought back to reality when Prince Amoaka Junior restored parity after five minutes. The equalizer then turned the tide in the visitors' favor, and at the break, FC Nordsjaelland led 3-1 thanks to goals from Sindre Walle Egeli and Peter Ankersen.

Patrick Egelund gave the home side a late lifeline when he reduced the deficit to 2-3 seven minutes before the end, but it was too little, too late as FC Nordsjaelland hung on for a narrow win.

Sonderjyske - AGF

AGF were heavy favourites going into the game against Sonderjyske, and it only took them 44 seconds to get on the scoreboard, when Frederik Emmery produced a perfect delivery for Tobias Bech to steer the ball into the net past the reach of Nicolai Flo.

Last season's leading goalscorer, Patrick Mortensen, then nearly doubled the lead with a strong after after 15 minutes, but the home side gradually began to produce chances against AGF, who are trying to settle into a more possession-based approach under the reign of new coach Jacob Poulsen.

The visitors looked very fragile at the back as Sonderjyske squandered a host of chances, but they still managed to get a point when Leopold Wahlstedt allowed Olti Hyseni to takle the ball into the net, as the Swedish keeper took too long to clear the ball.

FC Midtjylland - OB

After one season in the Betinia League, OB made their comeback in the Danish Superliga with a hard-fought 3-3 draw in the tricky away encounter against last season's runners-up, FC Midtjylland.

A huge surprise seemed to be in the cards when the visitors in the space of 30 minutes took a shocking 2-0 lead, when huge blunders from Jonas Lossl and Han-Beom Lee allowed Noah Ganaus and Jay-Roy Grot to give Odense a comfortable lead.

Two goals within the last minute of the first half from Franculino and Polish international Adam Buksa restored parity for the home side, but Odense still had the chance to steal all points when Jann-Fiete Arp converted a penalty before Franculino scored his second of the afternoon five minutes from the end to leave both sides with a point to share.

Vejle BK - Randers

Vejle have purchased more than ten new players for the new season and rehired former coach Ivan Prelec, and they also looked like a changed team against Randers after they barely escaped relegation last season.

Vejle had the better chances in an even first half, but it was the visitors who took the lead after an hour's play, when the 19-year-old defender Sabil Hansen stole ahead of Christian Sorensen to poke a rebound into the net after Igor Vekic had saved a fine attempt from Mohamed Toure.

Randers looked headed for all three points when the 18-year-old Abdoulaye Camara scored from inside the box in injury time to cap a sensational debut.

Brondby - Silkeborg

After a very disappointing series of test matches before the start of the new season, Silkeborg were certainly short of confidence going into the difficult away encounter against Brondby, and it turned out as difficult for the Jutland side as anticipated.

Filip Bundgaard has shown superb form during friendlies leading up to the start of the season, and the 21-year-old striker again proved his goal instinct for Brondby after 15 minutes when he volleyed a pinpoint pass from Nicolai Vallys into the back of the net.

Bundgaard was again on target after an hour's play when he completed a fast counter-attack by chipping the ball over the advancing Silkebog keeper Nicolai Poulsen.

Vallys then put the icing on the cake for the home side four minutes from the end, when he volleyed home a fine delivery from Sean Klaiber.
