Despite facing prison after driving recklessly in the central part of the Danish capital, Mexican right-back Roberto Huescas won't be punished by FC Copenhagen for his actions.

FC Copenhagen's Rodrigo Huescas won't face any internal punishment after the Mexican right-back recently drove recklessly in central parts of Copenhagen, says coach Jacob Neestrup to bt.dk

The 21-year-old Mexican international risks 20 days in prison without parole after he recently drove 111 km per hour at Kalvebod Brygge in central Copenhagen, where the speed limit is 50 km per hour.

"Internally, we have come to the conclusion that he should not receive an internal punishment. Because he will receive an appropriate punishment from the Danish judiciary."

"And in my opinion, if he were not to play one or two games, it would be purely of signal value", says Jacob Neestrup who explains that FC Copenhagen would only punish themselves if they were to suspend Huescas for forthcoming matches.

Huescas was also in the starting line-up when FC Copenhagen beat Randers FC 1-0 in the first round of the Superliga championship playoffs on Monday night and played a crucial role setting up Magnus Mattsson's matchwinning goal.

Jacob Neestrup does not know what will happen in the future if the Mexican is convicted.

"Then we will deal with it, but I can't say anything other than it will be handled by the Danish judiciary. I feel that's the right way to go about it along with our sports director", says Neestrup to bold.dk

Rodrigo Huescas' case will be tried on April 28.
