Midtjylland fell behind for the third successive home game against Sonderjyske before ten minutes had been played. But unlike the first two games of the season, the home side managed to turn the game on its head.

Franculino then completed his hat-trick and Mads Bech Sorensen also got on the scoreboard before Magnus Jensen cut the deficit for the visitors by converting a penalty four minutes from the end which, however, only had cosmetic importance for the result of the match.
