FC Midtjylland had a poor preview for the return leg of their third round qualifying clash against Fredrikstad in the Europa League when they, despite enjoying a 3-1 lead against FC Fredericia in the second half had to settle for a 3-3 draw.
The home side otherwise got off to a perfect start when they took the lead after five minutes when a shot from Aral Simsir took a deflection to fool Fredericia keeper Mattias Lamhauge.
Fredericia, however, never gave in and equalized after 19 minutes when FC Midtjylland keeper Elias Olafsson could do nothing about a stinging long-range drive from Felix Winther.

The home side then reclaimed the lead just before half-time when Junior Brumado burst through on the wing to deliver a perfect set-up for Franculino who slotted the ball past the helpless keeper.
Everything then seemed set for the favourites to claim all three points when Franculino turned provider for Denil Castillo to make it 3-1 after 64 minutes.
However, the visitors again showed amazing resilience to claw themselves back into the game.
After 72 minutes Oscar Buch reduced the deficit to 3-2 when he volleyed home from a nice delivery from Emilio Simonsen and then six minutes from the end Fredericia completed a sensational comeback when Anders Dahl curled a superb shot into the far right hand corner without any chance for Elias Olafsson.
